Capital City Brass Band
The 2011 North American Brass Band Association competition was held at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 8th and 9th. Thirteen brass bands from across the United States competed in four different divisions. The Capital City Brass Band was the first place band in the 3rd section, performing the test piece, Haydock Variations by Stuart Pullin, along with Eric Ball's Resurgum and Peter Graham's Prelude on 'Tallis'. This year was the first time that the CCBB has competed at the NABBA competition.

On Friday, NABBA hosted a solo and small ensemble competition. Bass trombonist, Chris Sayles, captured the top prize in the Low Brass Slow Melody category.
